More Trampoline

Miranda and Elizabeth spent some time just hanging out in the trampoline today when they wouldn't nap. They weren't jumping. More sort of rolling around. Until Elizabeth decided to take down Miranda.

Thurs

Twin/Sibling mom Liz is taking the second series of doubletalk (that I took in the spring). She can't bring her kids because they have runny noses, but she didn't want to miss the class. So I went over this morning for some serious babysitting. Sam wasn't there, but twins Courtney and Sydney were. After some minor hysteria from Parker about their dog (he is terrified of dogs...even old sweet labs that don't do anything), we got off to a nice start with all the kids playing together.

We first lost Miranda...who went off exploring.


The we lost Parker who had to try on a new hat.

Then we headed out to the deck where Parker practiced riding a tricycle, Miranda practiced standing, and Elizabeth checked things out with Courtney.



Miranda wanted a turn on the bike.

Parker wanted to contemplate the world.
Then Sydney decided she wanted to hang out with me. So she did.



Just then Ebba and her kids arrived (I had invited them to join me). Lincoln and Allison came in first since Fiona was still snoozing.


Parker found some sunglasses, Miranda found some pasta, Lincoln found a football, Elizabeth, Courtney and Sydney found the sandbox, and Allison and Fiona enjoyed the scenery.




Everyone got along splendidly until sweet Fiona got hungry and the Howe girls got tired. Just as I put them down for naps, Liz returned.


We packed up and headed out...much to the dismay of Parker and Lincoln who could have played their forever.

After a quick stop with Ebba at the local greasy spoon for fries and shakes, we headed home.

A good day.

Impatient

Eli is just like me. She can't sit around the house all day. She needs to go, go, go! When Dad left today, she was quite upset and went to the door as if she was going to go as well. When she realized she was stuck with me, she was even more upset.

Miranda on the other hand was happy as a clam sitting in the laundry basket. So I tried to entice Eli.

It worked and she forgot about the door and tried to get in the basket.


Success!

Moving on up...

I try to keep up on the clothes situation here at Chez Long. I take small clothes out and put new bigger clothes in almost weekly. Good thing the grandmas keep the girls well-dressed! Here is the latest batch of stuff I'm giving away to someone in the twins club.

Froggy's Day with Dad

Parker's favorite book these days is Froggy's Day with Dad. It's part of a series (Froggy Gets Dressed, Froggy Learns to Swin, Froggy's Baby Sister.) We got one a while back in the big book present from Mom and he seemed to like it since it has all these funny sounds (oof, splat, flop, zat). So I started checking out the rest. They are all very similar which is probably why he likes them.

In Froggy's Day with Dad, Froggy goes Miniature Golfing with his Dad for father's day. Today, after picking up some train tracks from Liz, we saw Golf Land. Since it had the typical windmill and castle that all mini golf places have and like they have in the book, he freaked out. So...now, we are going to play mini golf on Friday after music class. I hope he doesn't dive into the pond like Froggy does to get 7 golf balls out. Oof!

I wanna be naked!

This morning as I was changing the girls, Parker exclaimed, "I wanna be naked too!". So he stripped down to his diapers and all three had a splendid time in the trampoline.

Twin Co-op

Yesterday, two twin mom friends and I tried something new. We started a baby sitting co op. Every Monday, the three of us will get together. One of us will leave do run errands, spend time with older child, or just stare at the wall at a cafe. Each of us had been wanting some alone time but none of us wanted to spend money on a sitter or even have a regularly weekly thing. So this seemed perfect.

I headed over to Ebba's around 10. She put her girls down for a nap and then headed out to Macys. Then around 11, Susan and her boys joined me. A few moments later, Ebba's girls woke up. Allison was not happy about not having mommy there. But she got over it fairly quickly and we all enjoyed a nice play session complete with cheerios and pirates booty. Sebastian just sat there smiling the whole time. Elizabeth tore around the room like the crazy baby she is and Fiona slowly moved around the area without anyone noticing she was moving.

Then Ebba returned from he solo adventure and we all went home.

Next week...my turn to leave. Yay!
