Diapers

Well, about 28 hours into our potty training effort, Rachel and I became convinced that Parker was not ready, and we put him back in diapers. He had peed on the floor three times, pooped on the floor twice, and seemed completely determined not to use the toilet or the potty at all. By around 10:00am today, he started asking for a diaper, and it was pretty heartbreaking. We will try again in a month or two, and see if we can cultivate an interest in the meantime.

In other news, Dimond Park had a big neighborhood barbecue today with free food from Farmer Joe's, a production of Romeo and Juliet by an all-female theatre company, and several hundred of our neighbors. We spread a blanket under the redwoods, Parker played on the jungle gym, the gals frolicked and tried to eat leaves, and it was a good time all around.

Tonight Rachel went to a party, so I had all three kids. She left right before it was time to put the girls to bed, so it wasn't too challenging. The gals went down easy, and then Parker and I ate steak and shrimp scampi, which was delicious, and listened to Pink Moon, by Nick Drake, one of our favorite CDs.

And since I have no pictures to support any of the above, here are the kids playing in the sprinkler yesterday.
