Cast Away
Parker got his cast off yesterday. It was on for 5 weeks to the day. The doctor said it healed wonderfully. They are having him wear a splint for 10 days, but then he is okay. We actually have to be a little more careful now that the cast is off so Parker has a nice list of things he can't do...like hand stands. Parker never complained once about the cast. Not about itching or it stopping him from doing things or taking a shower with bags on or anything. He was amazing and we celebrated his cast removal with a trip to Fentons. His first triple scoop.
Waiting in the cast room. A bizarre room that always appears completely chaotic.
The lady who barely spoke english explaining what the saw was to Parker.
Sawing it off. Parker couldn't look away.
He said, "the arms keeps going up!" I think it just felt light.
The doctor trying to see how much he could move it. He asked, "did it hurt" and Parker said, "Yeah." Then he started pressing on his wrist really hard and Parker didn't notice. He said this is typical with kids. If asked, they say it hurts, but it really doesn't.
The xray after the cast was removed.
The sticker he got.
This was up in the office of the xray room. It pretty much cracked me up.
He held his arm for a good long while. I kept asking him if it hurt and he kept saying no.
His new splint.
