God help us all.
Today, just after naps, I caught Miranda on top of her crib trying to climb in. Elizabeth was just behind her. So it was just then that the decision was made to be done with the cribs. Over the next two hours with all three kids watching and helping, I dismantled both cribs and put in both toddler beds. Luckily we had extra matresses (thank you Rachel and Mike!) so put those down to ensure safe landings for middle of the night fall outs.
As you can imagine, we were expecting the worst, but bedtime was probably the best it has been in a long while. No screaming. No jumping in the crib. None of that. They just went to sleep. Crazy, huh? Michael and I kept looking at each other going..."Is that it???"
But...we are afraid for what will happen in the middle of the night when they wake up confused and pissed off. Michael had a bad night last night while I got to sleep, so I'm up tonight and he gets to be baby free in the backhouse.
Wish me luck.
