Ho ho ho

The Christmas spirit has apparently arrived. Today we got a tree and tonight we sat in front of it and sang carols. Parker was very amused by the Ha ha ha part of Jingle Bells.

At first Parker thought the point was to yank the shiny balls off of the tree, but after some instruction he now understands that this is something he's not supposed to do and should only attempt when he thinks we're not paying attention.

We picked a small tree, thinking we would put it on the chest, which we decided against. We're pretty sure that Zeke is going to jump on this at any moment, so a smaller one is better. The base is reinforced by an intermediate accounting textbook and all six volumes of Proust's In Search of Lost Time. Plus presents from Grammy & Ginny.

We've decided to fill stockings for the kids, with one for Parker and one for the girls to share. It seems sort of unfair to make the girls share a stocking until you remember that they will be 13 weeks old at the time, and generally pretty happy to stare at a lamp.
