Simply Ridiculous

For once I use the term ridiculous to describe not Elizabeth, but me. For no particular reason in the world, I rented a jumpy house today for the backyard. I thought we should share the fun, so I invited a few friends over to play too. What resulted was a full-on carnival with seven twin families and two other friends with kids enjoying it all. Which, if you do the math, is a lot of kids.

The Paves came first and were smart to do so before it got too hot or two crowded. Their sons Owen and Issac had a blast. Leslie, Sasha and Grandpa had some fun too. We all enjoyed a snack, they left and our kids went down for naps.

A couple hours later, we were back in full swing and the families started arriving. Everyone had to try the jumpy house, but the real hit was the water table. Some kids stayed there for hours. Like little Sydney. Her brother Cole was equally happy pouring water into a sive. Or pulling the plug out of the drain. Imogen was happy both at the water table AND jumping with the big boys in the bouncy house. She's tiny, but a real trooper.

Some of the little ones were not quite walking yet, but they (Sebastian, Fletcher, Sammie and Charlie) seemed to have no problem standing at the water table. Ebba and her family came too and brought Lasagna so after a full afternoon of play, we all got to eat. Thanks to Monika, who left before she could enjoy it, we got ice cream too!

And some point during dinner, we noticed the house started to deflate. With 5 kids in it. We all jumped up and save our children. Michael adjusted the pump and seconds later, all was well. It was then we realized what the hole in the roof was for.

All in all, for the number of people and kids that were here, everything was extremely calm. Maybe it was the hot weather. Maybe it was the backyard filled with fun stuff. Or mabye we just have really good friends.
