Zoo Outing

Took the kids to the zoo this morning. It was hot, but I figured the zoo would be empty and I was right. I didn't bring a stroller and everyone did great thanks to the "walking, walking, walking, walking, hop, hop, hop" song. It got them all the way down the bill hill and then all the way back up again. Miranda seemed enthralled with the tortoise and rabbits, but Parker and Elizabeth really just wanted to play with the slides and spider web. Before heading back up to the rides, we all went pee in the bathroom. It took forever, but they all went and no one had any accidents at the zoo. Back at the rides, Miranda was distraught that the train was not running and kept saying, "choo choo boke, choo choo boke".

It would have been an outstanding outing except that Elizabeth pulled her same old crap and fell to the ground about leaving. I left her, Parker started crying, yada, yada, yada. At one point I said to Parker, "can you be a big boy and stop crying for me please. I can't have more than one kid crying at a time." And he did stop crying for that. Then a moment later, when Eli, who was still lying on the ground 30 feet from us, had stopped screaming, he started crying again. When I reminded him that he needed to be big boy, he reminded me that one of them could cry and now it was his turn. Touche. Well played, my boy. I said, Ok go ahead and cry.

Oh, that Parker, he sure keeps you on your toes doesn't he? That is a great story.
