7 years
Today is our seven year anniversary. Seven years ago today, Michael and I got married at city hall in San Francisco. Me, in my black short dress. Michael in his shorts. On our lunch break with two people with us. It was a good ceremony and I, the one who hates weddings, cried during it. We had expensive and trendy Chinese food for dinner that night with six friends and started living our married life.
We usually celebrate with gifts of traditional wedding anniversaries (paper, cotton (funny story here: we each got each other cotton quilts that year), leather, etc.) This year was wool or copper, but we opted out of presents and opted in to Sushi dinner, a movie, and a babysitter. So Jenna come down from Sonoma today and sat for us. The kids love her so we even let her put Parker down to bed.
After a near missed accident leaving the house where we were almost ran into by a fast moving cadillac (good thing those insurance policies are up to date), we got into Yoshi's for dinner without a wait, enjoyed delicious raw fish (or in my case cooked shellfish), and then hopped across the street for a movie: Gone Baby Gone...an extremely depresssing but quite good, flick by Ben Affleck
When we returned, Jenna told us all went well. Everyone went to sleep and stayed that way the whole time. She said, "I don't know what is wrong with you people. This parenting thing is easy!" We love Jenna.
Anyway, like our toast at dinner tonight, here's to another oh, say 32 or 33 years of happiness.
