Mommy Swap

No, it's not a new reality TV show. It's what my friend Ebba and I are doing to allow us to get some date nights without breaking the bank. And I think it is fabulous.

Last night, she, after putting her three kids to bed, came over. We gave her some basic 'what if' scenarios for each kid (i.e. if Elizabeth wakes up, do this. If Miranda wakes up, do that. If Parker wakes up, you're screwed.) And then we left.

We had intended to go to Kirala for dinner, but the line was too long so ended up in North Berkeley three blocks from where we used to live at Cesar. We got delicious tapas and I even had a drink. (I ordered a diaqari thinking that I would get some bring red frozen drink, but that wasn't the case at all.) Then we visited Reel Video, something we desperately need in Oak-town. And then headed home.

Ebba said there were no issues and packed up her books she had brought with her. We thanked her with words and ice cream and she left.

Next week, I go to their house on Friday night and we do the reverse. Michael stays home and I go baby sitting Fiona, Allison and my pal Lincoln. I can't wait to raid their fridge!
