Plan G
Since plans A through F have failed to help Miranda fall asleep or stay asleep, we tried a new plan last night. The "hard core, mean mommy and daddy, you are on your own kiddo" plan. After books and songs, Michael tucked the girls in and said good night. They were quiet for a minute or so and then Miranda started up. And then she got going, screaming at the top of her lungs at the door. This went on for an hour and a half. No kidding around. Straight screaming for 90 minutes. We thought it would never end. Michael wanted to go sleep in the back house but I wouldn't let him leave me along with all the screaming. But then she got tired, went back to her bed an fell asleep. And she stayed asleep until 5:10 when she came to the door. I put her back in bed and she went back to sleep until 6:15.
Elizabeth, who fell asleep and slept through all the crying and screaming without a problem, woke up at 11:30 freaked out about something and needed some comfort. Miranda didn't make a peep during that episode. So, for me, asleep at 10:15, awake with Eli at 11:30, awake with Miranda at 5:10, awake with everyone at 6:15. Sad to say, that was a successful night sleep. Parker was sleeping on the floor in our room that night since we didn't think he could stay calm during the screaming. And we were right because he started crying that he was scared at some point during Miranda's scream fest. We are hoping and praying that this is the beginning of the end. We are so damn tired.
