An observation from Elizabeth

Last night at bedtime, Elizabeth out of the blue said, "Daddy, isn't it interesting that when you were a kid you were the youngest person in your family, and now you're the oldest person in your family?" I thought this was pretty good.

We then went on to discuss the relative merits of being young and old. Which led Miranda to say, "Daddy, if you died, and then some magician made you be a little kid in another family, that would be pretty cool."

There were too many ways to respond to this, so I ended the discussion with a kiss and a hug, which is one of the many advantages of being the oldest person in the family.
