Strong, singing.

I seem to have misplaced the camera, so today will be a photo free day.

Singing First.

Miranda is doing some serious singing lately. She will do "bah, bah" in tune and in rhythm to songs Parker listens to and she will actually hum in the car. Plus she'll do call and response. So Parker will say, Da, Da, Dat, Dat, Dah. And she will try to repeat it.

Now strong.

This morning, we did a mini music together class in the kitchen. Everyone participated and then I went to the living room to get the instruments. They all followed and we jammed for a long while. Then it was time to put them away so I sang the little song that the teacher does at that point in the class, "Take it back, take it back, take. it. back." All the big kids then help her lift the instrument box to the table. Lately Elizabeth has joined in. So today, she literally, and I am not exaggerating here at all, picked up the entire bucket, filled with all manner of shakers, tamborines, sticks, clackers, and bells, and walked it back to where it goes. Alone!

Then later, when I took the kids to Lake Temescal park, she was playing on the bridge that Parker used to run across for hours. She was jumped holding onto the bars at the top and her feet slipped. There is no barrier there, so she just hung there, holding onto the bars with her feet dangling with this petrified expression on her face until I came over to save her. It was stunning that she could hold on that long as I was a good 10 feet away. Another mom said, "Wow!"
