Parker
Parker is just so ridiculously sweet it kills me sometimes. His teacher asked the kids to bring in Valentines day cards for the other 9 kids in his class. The only requirement was that each one had the other kids' name on it (that the parents could write) and that Parker signed his own name. Even though I know this year will be like last when everyone did store bought cards, I knew Parker would want to do his own. So I told him about the request and suggested he add "Happy Valentines Day" to each card too.
So, he got right to work and starting making individual cards for each kid. In addition to the required text, he drew a special picture for each kid based on what he or she likes or does. So for one kid who apparently likes to be silly and smack himself in the face, Parker wrote "SMACK!" with the picture of a boy hitting himself. Then for another kid, he drew a race track since he likes cars. For another, he drew a number line since the kid likes to talk about the number line at school. And yet another dinosaurs with their names for the kids obsessed with those. He numbered all the cards and took great pride in each of them.
I hope he isn't too disappointed when he doesn't get something similar in return.
