The House that Jack Built

Our latest favorite book is "this is the house the jack built" by Simms Taback (from Joseph and Old Lady fame). I'm very pleased to report that after several readings, Parker still doesn't know the whole thing by heart. Phew!

This is the farmer sowing his corn

That kept the rooster that crowed in the morn

That waked the judge all shaven and shorn

That married the man all tattered and torn

That kissed the maiden all forlorn

That milked the cow with the crumpled horn

That tossed the dog that worried the cat

That killed the rat that ate the cheese

That lay in the house that Jack built.
