Joaquin Miller Park

Took the kids to the local park this afternoon. Parker wanted to bring his train and since it wasn't a number or letter, I said, OK. Miranda, who has been attached at the hip to this naked baby doll, brought her along too. Elizabeth was also allowed to bring something, but was too busy trying to get out the door to actually take anyone.

They all played together at first on the slide. Then the girls went to the swings, returning at the end to the slide. Parker took his train on adventures on the "track" (ie anything at all) and on the slide.

Elizabeth, thinking she is a big kid, climbed up these lilly pad steps (that Parker couldn't do until he was like 2 years old) without me noticing. When I turned to see her doing it, I exclaimed, "SHIT!" and ran over to her. She made it to the top without a problem (a feat that she repeated several times) but Parker thought what I said was hilarious and started laughing uncontrollably, while repeating, "Shit!" The only other guy at the park with his 2 year old said, "You sure have your hands full!"

Side note: So tonight at dinner, we explained about "bad" words and how it wasn't ok to say them and how mommy should not have said that. I went on that it was ok at home with mommy and daddy, but not ok with other people (Michael later countered that.) We asked Parker, is it ok to say it to Ebba? "No...." Is it ok to say it to Lincoln? "No..." Is it ok to say it to Grandma Judy? "No...." (Well, actually, kid, it is ok with grandma judy, but we don't want to confuse you too much.)

Parker has mastered the twisty turning pole.
