New books

Our friend Rachel came over today and, among other things, dropped four grocery bags full of books for the kids. Her twins are 5 years old, so we get a fairly regular stream of things from her.

While hanging out with the kids today, I sorted through the books and put them into two stacks: keep and dump. Overall the ratio was very impressive, and the kids got almost two shelves of good books out of the deal.



The bad books fell into three categories: 1) books that made noise, 2) books that were selling something, usually a TV show tie-in, and 3) books of inferior literary quality.
